- I Started a new job, back at Anthem/WellPoint.
- I had laminate wood floors put in my great room and kitchen.
- I went to see Garth Brooks in Las Vegas.
- I graduated with my Bachelors of Science Degree in Business/Management. Mom, Dad and Eric made it out for my party but unfortunately Eric couldn't make it to the Commencement.

California Christmas 2009 - Family
It was wonderful to go home for Christmas. I was able to see my Grandma Correia, Spend time with my parents, my brother and his family, my Uncle and his. I felt the joy of a child.

I had the joy of visiting with some old friends. I have known Chris Hawkins since I was 16 I met his wife Gwen 7 years later. Chris and Gwen are truly the perfect match. We hopped in a car and drove to Lemoore to visit Chris Marolf whom we have known since 1995. We fell into friendship like no time had passed.

Ohio Christmas 2009
I had the opportunity to go home for Christmas. The last time I had spent Christmas in California was 6 years prior. Going to California meant that I got two Christmas'. One in Ohio and one in California.
I love to do crafts and art projects with the kids. Christmas brings out the best. For our project we created Gingerbread Houses. There was tons of candy, icing, fun and love. Morgan and her niece each got their own house. Can you say SUGAR HIGH!

The Eyes Have It
Today I had Lasik Surgery. It is so cool to think that I can see without the aid of glasses or contacts. I thougt for sure I would need a white cane to leave the office but I could see right away. It is amazing! My sight is imporving minute by minute. Totally worth it!!!

The Over 30 Crowd
THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!
If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!! !
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning....
Uphill... Barefoot...
BOTH ways
Yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in heck I was going to lay a bunch of junk like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.
You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a darn Utopia!
And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the darn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!
There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen!
Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take, like, a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!
Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us.. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our butt! Nowhere was safe!
There were no MP3' s or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself!
Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone. Cause - that's how we rolled, dig?
We didn't have fancy stuff like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!
And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! ! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen... Forever!
And you could never win.. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your butt and walk over to the TV to change the channel! NO REMOTES!!!
There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little brats!
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980's or before!

Ok so on my last trip to Plano, Texas we were trying to decide where to have lunch. We came across this place and thought hmmmmm...... That looks like a good strip mall.

Who Shot J.R.?
When I was a young girl and my Unc and Aunt Liz were first married, I remember when they would come down to visit us in Madera from the Bay Area, they would have to arrive before Dallas started. I spent a week at the Plano, TX office and discovered at a business dinner that Southfork Ranch was just up the road. As soon as dinner was done I hoped in my car typed in Southfork Ranch in the GPS and went for a drive. Unfortunately I arrived at twilight and the tours had already ended but I still managed to get some pictures.

Changes they are a'comin
Today was my manager,mentor and friend's last day working for the Prescription Benefit Management portion of WellPoint. She is moving to a new job in the health plan.
I have reported to Linda for just under 6 years. She was my manager in customer service, I moved with her to create the Prior Authorization Department at the Taft building in Cincinnati and a year ago we started the Rx Prouction Operations Department.
Working for Linda, I have had many opportunities and my career has taken flurished. I will miss working for her but I am happy that our friendship will remain.
Our team is really big on pulling pranks. With Linda leaving we just had to pull on last good one.
So on came on the thinking caps. The team got together and we decided to wear matching shirts. Not just any shirts but one's with a quirky comment. Out came the shirts, fun on my computer, transfer paper an iron and tada!
Linda always calls us Princess.
The Ohio gang.
The ceremonial walking accross the creek. She will only be a short distance away.
And the goofiness!
Gonna miss ya Ror - love ya Mylamb!

The Blessings of Facebook
Because of Facebook I have reconnected with some great friends. This summer I have gotten to reconnect with two woman that have meant so much to me. The sign of a good friendship is to be able to pick up right where you left off. I hadn't seen either of these fabulous woman for more than six years. It seemed as if time had stopped and in both instances we were able to pick up where we had left off.
In June my dear friend Angela came up to Kentucky to visit her family. I was invited to visit her at her sisters house for the afternoon before heading back to Florida.
In July my sweetest friend Liz also came to visit her family in Kentucky. We were also able to spend the afternoon together before she headed back to Utah.
I look forward to keeping in touch and not letting so much time pass between visits.

Makiya Ranae Smiley
If you know me you know that I love love love love did I say love babies. I've always wanted to be a mommy when I grew up. I guess I am still waiting to grow up. My dear friend Casey just had another beautiful baby girl. Morgan is five now and no longer a baby.
Looking into Makiya's eyes I swear I saw her sweet spirit. There is nothing like holding a new baby. Her little lips, fingers and toes. I'm so honored to be able watch you grow up Makiya!
